I love second chance romance and Christmas romance novels, and if the author veers off the path of predictable, it’s a bonus read. Unfortunately, Childs remained true to the genre … but I still enjoyed reading about Sloan’s and Rowan’s whys and what ifs.
Sloan and Rowan grew up together and were the best of friends – Sloan wishing for more – until life and death and their individual heartaches separated them.
Eight years later, an unexpected reunion and a snowstorm finds them reevaluating their past through mature reasoning rather than teenage angst. After all, Sloan is stranded at Rowan’s Inn.
While the premise was by no means original, I found the characters relatable and the story engaging. And … there is a slight twist in the story, if you’re not expecting it.
If you like second chance, sweet romance and Christmas Cheer, I recommend reading Christmas at Holly Berry Inn.
